Reproductive Surgery
In some cases, surgery is enough to resolve reproductive challenges. Many are able to naturally conceive after a non-invasive keyhole procedure.
About Reproductive Surgery
Reproductive surgery can be used to restore reproductive organs to normal or near normal state to help you to naturally conceive. It can also be used to improve the womb for fertility treatments by removing polyps, ovarian cysts or fibroids.
We perform two types of advanced reproductive keyhole surgery called Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy.
Hysteroscopy is a form of keyhole surgery where a camera is inserted through the vagina to visualise the inside of the womb and perform corrective surgery. In many cases, polyps and fibroids within the womb can be removed without needing open surgery.
Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that requires tiny incisions on the tummy. A long, fibre optic tube with a camera is inserted through the incision so the surgeon can visualise the area to find a cause of infertility or perform corrective surgery while preserving fertility. The views of the operating field are magnified allowing the surgeon to operate precisely and therefore minimising scar tissues.
In addition, laparoscopy can be perform before women undergo cancer treatment to remove ovarian tissues for freezing to preserve their fertility.
We can help in more ways than one.
The journey to fertility isn’t just about IVF.
