Dr. Aaron Chen Jang Jih

Lead Preimplantation Genetic Testing Scientist

Dr. Aaron obtained his Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of Malaya in 2007. He is an embryologist by training and in 2009, left Malaysia to pursue a fellowship in Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) with the renowned Reproductive Genetics Institute in Chicago, United States. Upon his return to Malaysia, he worked as a PGD Scientist and has been actively involved in research in genetics-related disorders, especially in thalassaemia. He was part of the team that achieved Malaysia’s first pregnancy for that was screened for alpha-thalassemia using PGD.

He has completed the Doctorate (PhD) in Biomedical Science of Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya with research areas focused on mutations in thalassemia and DNA methylation.
